Jaguar has produced fine British motorcars for many years. Vanden Plas is a Belgian coachmaker that started building horsedrawn carraiges in 1870. It soon began building Packards, Berliers, De Dion Bouton, and Germains. It expanded its fine coachmaking to Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Lagonda, and Daimler in the 1930s. Needless to say, their product has always stood out, and its quality stands the test of time. Its relationship with Jaguar started in the 1960s, and came to a conclusion in 2009, along with the company, after it sold to Nanjing Automobile.
This XJ Vanden Plas is the perfect Concours d'Elegance car to take. It's the great expression of British engineering without having to look into a $325k Aston Martin DB12, or even a 2002 Vantage V12 for twice the price. Amenities are plentiful for the driver like Navigation, heated and ventilated seats, a CD changer, and picnic trays. Power is supplied by a 4.2L V8 giving plenty of power. Four wheel independent suspension gives the ride quality a cloud-like quality without the mess of air suspension.
